Death in San Francisco

Death in San Francisco
“Sujit Saraf’s play, Death in San Francisco, shows us the family and friends of a recently deceased middle aged Indian in Pacific Heights, CA – a ritzy neighborhood of San Francisco. Naveen Gupta, seemingly secular in life, surprised everyone by stipulating in his will that his son Ajay should cremate him in San Francisco, just as Naveen had cremated his father in India, thirty years earlier. The play offers us humor in the varying reactions of Naveen’s family and friends to this quixotic demand; and, as is typical of Saraf, holds an unblinking spotlight to our community and its foibles.”
